Alongside this vital service delivery role, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm’s assets and its reputation.

Operations span all product lines and markets, serving as internal business partners who develop the processes and controls, and help to specify the systems that deliver accuracy, timeliness and integrity to our business.

Gao Hua China Operations delivers efficient transaction management, product support, regulatory reporting, client account opening and data management as well as projects designed to expand our range of products and our access to markets. China Operations leverages local systems and tools to manage obligations and interactions with local exchanges, clearing agents, regulators and other counterparties. We also make use of the firm’s systems and ledgers in order to apply risk monitoring and firm-wide reporting.

China Operations is seeking an advanced specialist to perform in a co-team leader capacity to support its domestic securities businesses. The team leads will be responsible to coordinate the daily activities of the trade processing team, which supports a wide range of products and functions. Products include listed equity/bonds, OTC bonds/repos, new equity and debt issuances, and interest rate swaps. Functions include but are not limited to trade support, settlements, new product setup, and asset servicing. The team leads will ensure the completeness and quality of daily tasks, adhere to risk controls, and address or escalate issues in a timely manner. The team lead position is an integral part of a dynamic team with its primary goal of providing efficient trade processing, control and continuous process improvement.

Principal Responsibilities
• Coordinate daily/weekly tasks and resource assignments for the team
• Ensure timely completion and quality of the team’s daily tasks/check lists
• Guide the team to address and resolve issues and escalate in a timely manner when necessary
• Represent the team by participating in and leading projects and initiatives
• Identify gaps in current processes and lead continuous improvement efforts for better risk control and efficiency
• Build strong relationships with internal business partners and external clients
• Establish relationships with brokers, custodians and vendors to streamline workflow wherever possible
• Ensure department procedures are up to date
• Provide regular management reporting to senior Operations managers and the business

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum 3-4 years relevant experience in Operations
• Demonstrated strong leadership and teamworking skills as well as excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail and good follow up skills; ability to demonstrate initiative and ownership of issue resolution
• Self-motivated, driven to achieve and able to manage pressure and prioritize multiple tasks
• Experience in leading and managing projects
• Proficiency in both spoken and written Chinese and English 

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in domestic securities business (such A-share, QFII, index futures, interbank OTC, IRS, asset management)
• Understanding of local regulatory and market practice
• SAC licence preferred
