Alongside this vital service delivery role, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm’s assets and its reputation.

Operations span all product lines and markets, serving as internal business partners who develop the processes and controls, and help to specify the systems that deliver accuracy, timeliness and integrity to our business.  

BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

This departmental overview covers activities performed by Treasury Operations in support of both the Bank Holding Company (BHC) as well as GS Bank USA (“the Bank”). The department is split across 4 regions with locations in the Americas (Jersey City and Salt Lake City), Europe (London), Asia (Hong Kong and Tokyo) and India (Bangalore).

Treasury Operations serves as the firm’s central bank for processing and managing all incoming and outgoing cash movements, monitoring transactions for compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and managing the firm’s overall cash position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The individual will have the opportunity to be involved in several aspects of the department’s cash settlement functions, as well as drive and participate in departmental projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate must be motivated and reliable with the ability to work well in a dynamic team oriented atmosphere. This position offers the employee an opportunity to learn and advance in a fast-paced work environment with challenging, multi-faceted assignments, an opportunity to work closely with business areas on a variety of topics, exposure to business issues and senior management on a regular basis, and an ability to gain in-depth knowledge of key business drivers and industry dynamics.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Identify risks associated with cash settlements in a real-time environment.
• Provide support in the control process related to cash settlements.
• Actively liaise with business units to ensure timely reconciliation and that error trends are identified with the team and countered through process improvement plans.
• Communicate and escalate issues with both internal and external counterparts, including agent banks.
• Support the growth market build out and strategic global project initiatives

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

MANDATORY
• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum one year's relevant experience in Operations

PREFERRED
• Business level Korean (verbal and written) required in addition to English
• Strong record of working proactively with Clients and Business partners
• Effective team-player with ability to impact and influence across organization and levels
• Strong control focus and understanding of operational tools to mitigate risk
• Good organization and ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Attention to detail / ability to work under pressure and perform multi-tasking
