Opto- Mechanical Test Tech Job in Hayward, California US

Manpower is Currently looking to fill a Opto-Mechanical Test Tech Position in Hayward during the Day shift. The pay will be $12/hour DOE.

This position plays a key role in achieving production goals and schedules, reports to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for a wide range of manufacturing activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions, in order of importance

• Assembles, aligns, calibrates, tests and validates complex automated electro-optic/mechanical/fluidic devices used for medical diagnostics and research.
• Performs laser alignment by precise adjustment of kinematic mirror mounts, using custom tooling, electronic test equipment and utilities.
• Makes real-time calibrations using custom software to measure and optimize system performance.
• Collects and analyzes pass/fail data against specifications and assay standards.
• Troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs and dispositions in-process failures.
• Maintains component records and instrument travelers to document test results and assembly procedures.
• Performs cycle counts, writes material transfer tickets and NCMR's, and closes work order labor transactions in order to maintain accurate inventory and WIP status.
• Occasionally supports Field Service organization with training, testing and aligning parts and assemblies, and performing in-house repairs (RMA).
• Occasionally supports Design Engineering with New Product Introduction.

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 year degree in Electronic Engineering or related field. *
• Minimum 4 years experience in technical, medical and/or life science device manufacturing, alignment, calibration and test, in a quality controlled environment. *
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. *

Candidate Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Assembles electronic, mechanical and optical subassemblies and components.
•Follows production drawings, written procedures, sample assemblies and verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
•Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other using fixtures and tooling devices.
•Crimp, stakes, screws, bolts, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, fixtures and equipment.
•Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and enclosures.
•Routes and connects wires and cables between individual assemblies and printed circuit boards.
•Performs on-line go-no-go testing and inspection, using magnifying devices, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment, to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
•May perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying device.
•Reads and assigns work orders, processes material transfer tickets and fills out production travelers to document assembly steps and maintain accurate inventory counts.
•Performs inventory transactions to support the flow of material from receiving, inspection and stock locations to the production floor, in a timely and accurate manner.

EDUCATION AND PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
•Minimum two years experience in modern manufacturing environment. Post High School education a plus but not mandatory. Competence proven from previous experience may be acceptable, at the Supervisors discretion.
•Self-motivated. Able to work independently, and as a team member.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
