Oracle Application Admin/DBA 2 Job in Herndon, Virginia Us

Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking an Oracle Applications Administrator 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Herndon, VA.

Where Technology and Teamwork come together... The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System (DOEHRS) team. DOEHRS is a web-based
application that supports the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of occupational and environmental factors arising in or from the workplace that may result in injury, illness, impairment, or affect the well-being of workers and members of the DoD community. DOEHRS is a mission critical application directly supporting the well being of military and civilian workers. DOEHRS is hosted in a DISA data center. All administration is performed remotely from Herndon, VA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Remote administration of DOEHRS servers located at DISA
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle products in UNIX/Solaris environment
  • Daily monitoring and maintenance activities
  • Troubleshooting system issues
  • Creating system documentation
  • Investigating/instituting system enhancements to improve the reliability, maintainability, and performance of the system
  • Evaluating and installing of patches/security updates
  • Supporting annual security review
  • Occasionally supporting off-hours activities

    Basic Qualifications:
    To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Bachelors degree and three years of related experience
  • Three years of production system support
  • Three years of experience with UNIX/Solaris
  • Three years of experience with Oracle Application Server and/or WebLogic
  • Must a US citizen and be able to obtain a Position of Trust designation

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Experience with DISA STIGs
  • Experience with DIACAP accreditation
  • Experience with Oracle Database Administration
  • Experience with BusinessObjects
  • Experience with Informatica
  • Familiarity with LDAP servers
