Oracle DBA (GA-006-12)

Responsible for installation and maintenance of several Oracle databases utilizing Oracle 10g and 11g in Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC), and the configuration and management of various Oracle applications, OAM, OAS, and WebLogic. Install Oracle database management software over various OS platforms, including Windows, Red Hat Linux, SUN, and HP-UX. Create, edit and execute scripts to process data, monitor database performance or assist developers. Create, edit and maintain database schemas. Create database instances and ensure connectivity. Recover from database failures using Oracle RMAN and FLASHBACK or other designated recovery utilities. Read/interpret database error messages and if necessary, engage Oracle support by submitting and monitoring the status of an Oracle Service Request via Metalink. Implement mandated upgrades and security patches to the Database Management System Software, to include quarterly Critical Patch Updates (CPU) and PSU. Design, manage, implement and configure Logical Units Numbers, file systems, disks, zones and other storage medial on various storage devices in a Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID). Implement shared database file systems in a SAN environment. Utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager or other designated tools Oracle Grid Control to monitor and maintain the database environment.
