Oracle DBA/Developer Horsham, PA 6 month contract Corp-Corp or W2 Fortune 100 client is looking for an Oracle Consultant for a large Replatforming / Upgrade project. The Oracle DBA/Developer is responsible for: The focus will be on a large replatforming/upgrade project. The application is being upgraded from Oracle10g single-node implementation to 11G RAC, as well as being moved to new infrastructure and changing platforms from SOLARIS to Linux. Skills: 10+ years Oracle experience, including knowledge of Oracle processing and architecture 10+ years in SQL and PL/SQL development 5+ years in Unix shell scripting Five or more years of experience implementing Oracle in a Unix environment Performance tuning and analysis of database processing activity Experience with SQL performance tuning and establishing a proactive performance monitoring plan Experience in development and execution of test procedures Experience with database and system maintenance procedures Experience working in VLDB environments Experience scheduling jobs in Autosys/Tivoli Work Scheduler to run database jobs is a plus Experience in automated database refresh and archiving tools is a plus Experience with IBM Optim is a plus Oracle RAC environment experience is a plus Oracle DBA experience is a plus Responsibilities: Responsibilities include design/development of complex application processes, such as refresh and archival processes, and conversion of DBMS_JOB to TWS jobs. Responsibilities also include interfacing with corporate DBAs, assisting team members with deployments, as well as troubleshooting issues found in testing. Lead the analysis of existing Oracle processes. Develop recommendations for re-architecting processes in support of a larger database migration effort Design, code and implement solutions to enhance and optimize system processes in the target environment Design and execute test procedures Fully document all analysis, recommendations, processes, test procedures, code and test results Support all phases of the software development lifecycle Assist with database deployment tasks in QA and development environments: create database objects (tables, indexes, views, packages, etc); define security policies; create and maintain SQL, PL/SQL and shell scripts to automate deployment tasks Provide capacity projections as necessary Monitor Oracle processes and logs for any anomalies during development and testing. Provide corrective actions as necessary Perform Oracle tuning, including optimizing complex SQL statements and session tracing for best possible performance of the application Provide assistance to developers for resolving technical Oracle issues, document and implement Oracle best practices Interface with developers regarding physical database design decisions
