Oracle Developement Support recruitment
Main Duties:
Highly skilled and proven team member will work closely with business analysts, developers, external teams and work stream owners, leveraging technical analysis, development and testing skills within a self-directed and self-organizing team to deliver high quality, robust technical solutions in a controlled, transparent and actively risk managed fashion.
• Setting up and monitoring of Astrid test batches. Resolving any issues that may arise in the test batches in a timely fashion and coordinating with other teams where required.
• The development and enhancement of the corporate action processing system using Oracle 10g / 11i PL/SQL.
• The development of the supporting Oracle database and UNIX code.
• The production of detailed technical analysis, robust design and development
• The production of technical specifications derived from functional specifications produced by the business analysis team.
• The live support of the corporate action processing system, including investigative work, and user liaison where required.
• Definition and adherence to programming standards
• Unit and integration testing of developed code
• Code Reviews
• Must be able to participate in a culture of “knowledge sharing” within the development team globally
Key responsibilities:
Analytical
• Work closely with business analysts and the other members of the Development team to ensure technical requirements are fully defined and documented
• Delivery of first class Oracle packages/procedures
• Transparent and appropriately detailed communication
• Active risk management and escalation
• Live Support for user queries when needed
• Post-live support for major enhancements
Testing:
• Preparation and execution of robust Unit test scripts based on functional specifications
• Assist in System and User Acceptance Test support
Essential Requirements
• Very strong knowledge of Autosys scheduling management and UNIX
• Very strong and proven track record in Oracle 10g / 11i PL/SQL design and development and implementation.
• Expertise in database performance tuning
• Strong knowledge of UNIX and Autosys scheduling management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management and ability to coordinate with co-located teams to action items
• Strong internal relationship management skills – the team works across many areas of the organisation, the ability to relate to people and work in ad-hoc teams is critical.
• Self starting team player, able to demonstrate initiative
• Ability to adopt a fact based approach to issue resolution
• Exposure to Perforce (or other Source Control) tools
