Order Management System Technical Director – Asset Management recruitment

Leading Global Investment Management firm has embarked on a multi-year, cross asset programme to create a new technology platform to support the next stage of evolution of the companies Investment Process. The Order Management System (OMS) will serve as a foundational component of a new strategic platform.

Significant progress has been made with Phase 1 (Fixed Income) and as the programme continues there is the need for additional capacity to provide leadership and direction across the testing, operational readiness, conversion and implementation workstreams.

This role will be responsible for ensuring detailed plans are in place with all dependencies identified and managed accordingly. It will also interact with all levels of the business community, seeking approval as required and will therefore require strong stakeholder management skills.

Key accountabilities
• Accountable for the delivery to the programme of testing, operational readiness, conversion and implementation.
• Deliver agreed plans on-budget and on-time.
• Work with Programme Manager and PMO to ensure all key workstream components and plans are integrated into the overall programme plan
• Identify, track and resolve issues to ensure delivery remains on-track
• Identify, communicate and put in place appropriate mitigation for risks and dependencies
• Ensure reporting is both accurate and timely and where necessary reviewed with the relevant business stakeholders
• Identify key resources ensuring adequate plans for the recruitment, development and retention of appropriately skilled resources.

Skills and experience
• Knowledge of the Asset Management business with a good end to end understanding of the high level processes
• A detailed understanding and experience of working on large scale global integration programmes
• A proven track record of delivery with the ability to work at various levels of detail as required
• Excellent communication skills with experience in helping resolve key programme dependencies across business areas
• Experience with offshore delivery models
