Description

The incumbent is responsible for day-to-day confirmation process of OTC Derivatives including investigation to resolution of confirmation breaks. This includes electronically confirmed trades as well as paper confirmed trades. This will also include Centrally Cleared trades in the near future. The incumbent will be expected to react proactively to confirmation breaks and ensure these are investigated to resolution. The incumbent will be expected to interact with the client and other internal departments. Ensuring all SLAs are met and delivering the agreed service to the client, ensuring that all controls in place are being adhered to and responding to client or internal department queries.

The incumbent should have a broad knowledge of OTC derivative products, the confirmation process for electronically and paper confirmed trades, as well as an understanding of the Central Clearing process for OTCs. The incumbent will be expected to proactively monitor for trades failing to match and investigate to resolution any such trades. As the role involves client contact there is a direct impact on the client relationship as well as the relationship of DSG with other internal departments, in addition to market counterparties.

The incumbent forms part of the OTC team therefore will need good interpersonal skills to work as a team.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent work experience in investments or banking is required. A Derivatives background is preferred. Minimum of 3 / 4 years combined experience as a Derivative Operations Specialist ll, and / or Derivatives Operations Liason l, or similar related work experience required, 5 to 6 years preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills are required. A broad knowledge and understanding of OTC derivative products is required. Ability to work in a team environment, or individually, and deal effectively with all levels of staff is essential.
