Description

The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of lifecycle events for OTC Derivatives. This includes resets on Swaps, which may be system generated or spreadsheet, confirming reset cash movements with Counterparties and instructing cash movements, in addition to taking relevant actions around Option exercise/assignment/expiry. Further the incumbent will be expected to liaise with the client and counterparties around Credit Events and give direction as to actions required.

The team are responsible for undertaking middle office services for a client(clients) and ensuring issues/risks are pro-actively investigated to resolution. The team must ensure they meet client SLAs as well as internal department SLAs.

The incumbent will be required to support the OTC Derivatives Middle Office Manager in developing spreadsheets and controls around any new OTC products where lifecycle is not supported within the system. The incumbent will also be expected to provide support to SMEs in determining the best solution for new products/processes. The incumbent will undertake day-to-day lifecycle events of OTC Derivatives ensuring SLAs are met and transactions settled in timely manner meeting deadlines. Ensuring all control processes are followed, raising issues as appropriate and responding to client initiatives WRT new products/processes and assisting development of process solution.

The incumbent should have a broad knowledge of derivative products and irregular lifecycle events. In addition good knowledge and experience of Credit Events across a range of Credit OTC products is required. The incumbent is expected to be the lead role in lifecycle calculation and settlement and therefore able to investigate and resolve problems. As some products' lifecycle events may not be supportable fully on the core systems, incumbent will be expected to help create s/sheets to support these functions and include relevant controls.

The position will involve contact with the client, therefore there is a direct impact on the client relationship as well as the relationship of DSG with other internal departments, in addition to market counterparties. The position falls within the OTC Derivatives Middle Office team, therefore the incumbent is expected to interact well with other tram members and provide support to them during busy times. Additionally they will be expected to help the Manager develop the middle office processes/controls/services in respect of lifecycle events.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent work experience required. A Derivatives background is essential. Minimum of 6 years experience in investments, banking, or an operational environment required. Management experience required. The incumbent must possess the ability to work independently and under pressure while adhering to strict processing deadlines and also demonstrate the ability to work with all levels of management and staff. Interviewing and hiring experience also a plus. Five years of experience, prior experience as a Derivatives Operations Supervisor is preferred.
