OTC Derivatives Project Manager
Position Summary
Our client, a Top Tier Investment Bank in New York is looking for a Project Manager to work within an OTC derivatives project. Ideal candidates will have project management experience within Fixed Income, Equities, Prime Services, Prime Brokerage and have the ability to see the big picture.
The main duty of a Project Manager in Project Services is to manage the delivery of complex front-to-back change projects in the Investment Bank. Project Manager is expected to be able to manage all aspects of such a project, including mobilization, shaping, execution, and closedown, with minimal supervision. Project Managers are expected to take full, end-to-end responsibility for their projects.
Responsibilities
- Scoping the project or work stream
- Identifying the impact of the project on the business lines and support departments
- Identifying the key stakeholders
- Defining the project governance model and roles and responsibilities
- Liaising with the various business units and support departments to determine priorities and agree solutions
- Developing the project strategy and project plan
- Allocating resources driving the completion of tasks
- Monitoring, tracking and reporting project progress to the stakeholders
- Ensuring actions, issues, and risks are identified and effectively managed
- Ensuring communication within the project and to external stakeholders
- Delivering project objectives and ensuring project benefits are realized
Qualifications
- At least 5+ years project management experiences with a leading consulting firm within financial services or an International investment bank
- Track record in delivering major projects especially projects delivered in an investment bank or similar institution
- Strong knowledge of investment banking processes – front to back
- Has been involved in managing change
- Experience of dealing with senior management
- Experience in achieving results in a project context using resources that do not report directly to you (e.g. from clients, from other departments, external suppliers)
- Solid knowledge of IT: managing IT-oriented projects, user’s requirements / testing. Must have interfaced with technology groups and IT implementations
- Extremely strong organisational skills
- Strong relationship skills
- Strong communications skills at all levels
- Formal project management and presentation skills
- General business analysis and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with MS Project and Project Planning Control
- Must submit to a background and credit check
- Must provide 3 professional references
- Must be able to work for any employer in the US
