Outbound Sales Specialist - A Great Job for Students!
You will be the initial point of telephone/virtual customer contact with existing ATB customers or prospects regarding organized outbound call programs. This provides for an exceptional opportunity to create/reinforce a positive image of ATB and our product/service offerings through the effective delivery of assertive, friendly, courteous and professional service. This position is responsible for gaining new and/or additional business for ATB through organized outbound call programs targeting specific customer or prospect groups. The Outbound Sales Specialist's objective is to establish a rapport with the customer or prospect over the phone with a scripted lead-in, explore the customer's needs, and actively sell or cross-sell ATB products and services. Expertise in mortgages, personal loans, lines of credit, investments (registered and non-registered) ATB policy and procedures and systems is required to deliver quality service in an efficient manner.
You will find success based on your ability to:
- Contact ATB customers and/or prospected within an organized call program to actively solicit new or additional business for ATB in the areas of retail loans, investments, mortgages, insurance, MasterCard and other ATB products and services
- Expertly explore customer and/or prospect needs to uncover and match offerings to meet these needs across the full range of ATB retail credit and non-credit products and services
- Actively sell or upgrade ATB products and services to existing and potential customers as opportunities are presented through outbound calls
- Conduct loan interviews over the telephone ensuring thorough completion of consumer/mortgage loan applications
- Negotiate pricing and terms with customers
- Provide credit-decisioning on lending products utilizing APPRO within delegated lending limits
- Meet or exceed established Contact Centre, team and/or individual goals
- Develop and maintain an excellent knowledge of all retail ATB products and services (including accounts, administrative and sundry services, mortgages, RSP, LOC, and investments)
- Identify and report to the Team Leader any situations or customer concerns that will improve quality or mitigate risk to ATB or customers
- Accurately complete call-tracking documentation on each call
- Provide support to the General Services queue during peak call periods as required by the Team Leader
- Engage in continuous learning opportunities
- Assist with training/development of new Customer Service Specialists
- In the absence of the Team Leader, may assume responsibility for team functions and performance
Job Requirements:
As the ideal candidate you possess:
- Proven ability to build rapport and sell products and services over the phone, including referrals, warm calls, and cold calls
- Thorough knowledge and/or willingness to learn all of ATB's personal lending, investment, account, and wealth management product lines
- Proven track record for meeting individual and team goals
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Sound Personal Computer skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette
- Full scheduling flexibility
- Ability to successfully complete all required credit and sales training
- High school graduation
- Post Secondary Education preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required
- Customer service experience in a financial institution, including credit-granting is an asset
- Previous experience (minimum of 6 months) in the General Services, ATB Online, or MasterCard queue is preferred
