Business Unit Overview:
The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) book of business within Fundamental Fixed Income services predominantly Insurance company clients. The EMEA FIG book has grown substantially in recent years as a result of a trend for European Insurers towards outsourcing of the asset management function. BlackRock has benefited from this trend as a result of our substantial resources in fixed income as well as across asset classes, our experience and track record in managing US insurance company assets, and our dedicated FIG client service and portfolio management teams. The EMEA FIG book encompasses predominantly £ and € assets within government bond, IG credit, and ABS space. Fund performance objectives are varied and typically funds are relatively constrained.
Responsibilities Include:
- Working as part of a team of four whose responsibility is to manage portfolios on behalf of Insurance Companies
- Harnessing the extensive global research capabilities of BlackRock to the benefit of our clients
- Generation and Implementation of macro views on a range of £ and € denominated portfolios to include (but not limited to): Duration, curve, inflation, and country allocation views
- Providing input to the asset allocation decision making process
- Lead Portfolio Manager responsibilities
- Regular client meetings both in person and via conference calls
- Input to written client communication
- Represent the views of the team to the Global FIG team and the wider organization
- Participate in the New Business process

Knowledge/Experience:
- Must have significant experience in Fixed Income Asset Management
- A strong demonstrable record of applying fundamentally driven macro views across Sterling and European fixed income portfolios
- Experience in managing Insurance Assets beneficial but not essential. However the candidate must be comfortable operating in a constrained investment environment.
- The ability to articulate your macro investment views and positioning to a varied audience
