Part Qualified Fund Accountant recruitment
Responsibilities:
- Shadowing the fund accounts which are currently prepared by a third party administrator
- This will include posting journals, finishing the quarterly and annual accounts, preparing the quarterly valuations and dealing with investor queries and the investment team on a regular basis
- The successful candidate will also play a key role in assisting with the implementation of a new accounting system and work with the Finance Partner on various ad hoc projects
- As the firm is hoping to raise another fund in the next 12-18 months, you will then take on the complete fund accounting functions
- The firm is also looking at moving the fund accounting function back in house in the near future which will widen the scope of the role
Skills and Experience
- Degree educated (2.1 or better) with an excellent academic record
- Currently studying for a professional accounting qualification (ideally halfway through the studies)
- Strong communication skills and a confident, mature approach and work ethic
- A strong desire to develop a career in fund accounting
- Experience in a private equity or hedge fund would be a strong advantage but not a necessity
- Candidates coming from practice with a good understanding of limited partnership accounting will also be considered
Candidates must be on a maximum of a month's notice period.
