Part time Financial Controller
SME based in Croydon seek an ACA,ACCA or CIMA qualified Accountant to join their company as Part-Time Financial Controller. This is a permanent role for 3.5 days per week. My client can be flexible as to how the 3.5 days are structured whether they are full days or half days to suit the needs of the business and employee.
As Financial Controller you will take overall responsibility for all finances of the company and as a key member of the senior management team you will be expected to contribute to strategic and tactical decision making in all areas of the business.
You will have full responsibility for the management accounting, financial audit, payroll, HMRC statutory reporting, budgeting and forecasting. You will also lead a small finance team of two.
Applicants will possess a minimum of five years post qualified experience gained within industry. You will have developed broad accounting skills within both statutory and management reporting including up to date knowledge of accounting standards.
Strong IT skills are essential including Excel and powerpoint as is the ability to investigate system improvements. You will also assume responsibility for Human Resources and people management within the business.
Areas of ownership:
- Provision of effective input to the strategic direction of the company.
- Prepare and review Medium Term Operating Plan with the CEO on a rolling six monthly basis
- Prepare budgets for each financial year, and reforecast throughout financial year
- Actively participate in management and board meetings, and engaging with the CEO and Managers
- Oversee cash flow and ensure adequate funds are available.
- Review and finalise month end management accounts
- Submit all HMRC Compliance forms accurately and on time, eg VAT, P11D, P32 etc
- Responsible for all HR aspects of the company regarding each employee.
- Oversee financial and internal audit, including quarterly reporting
- Manage banking relationships
- All Company Secretarial compliance
- Manage healthcare, life assurance, and pension schemes, ensuring value for money and appropriateness.
- Manage a team of staff (currently two) – Management Accountant and Office Administrator
- Maintain the Sage Accounting system
