Part-time ICP QC Chemist / Lab Tech, Metals Analysis

ICP QC Chemist / Lab Technician Wickliffe, Ohio Compensation: $13-15/hr My client in the Wickliffe area is seeking entry and mid-level QC chemists in the area of metals analysis. They are noted chemical manufacturer, contract manufacturer, and also scrap metal reclamation experts. The position is a part-time contract-to-perm; my client is looking to make permanent employees. Quality Control Lab Chemist Identified Work Hours: Tuesdays: 5:00PM-10:00PM Thursdays: 7:00PM-4:00AM Fridays: 10:00PM ? 7:00AM Additional hours may be available. Quality Control Lab Chemist Position Duties: · Performs analysis on various samples, including raw materials, in-process and finished goods samples, accounting samples, environmental check samples · Assures proper documentation of all results, including as to whether or not they conform to specified requirements · Generates and/or maintains laboratory records including, but not limited to, vendor certificate of analysis (chemicals only) records, in-process analysis records, finished goods records, nonconformance records, environmental testing records and special analysis (LSR) records. · Approves raw material to plant stock · Maintains laboratory equipment in good condition using daily/weekly preventive maintenance schedule · Prepares standard solutions needed for daily operation of laboratory · Observes all prescribed safety and environmental rules and regulations · Identify, troubleshoot, and document problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results. Instrumentation and Techniques utilized by the Quality Control Lab Chemist: · ICP/MS, Perkin Elmer ICP-Mass Spectrometer · Microwave Digestion sample preparation techniques · Metal Plating System Quality Control Lab Chemist Requirements: · 1-3 years experience in a Quality Control environment. · Experience in regulated environments (ISO, FDA) GLP laboratory a plus. · Full understanding of QC and QA within a lab setting. · AS in Biosciences, Chemical Processing, or related science. BS in Chemistry, Biology or related science (or students) preferred. · Previous experience with lab instrumentation. · Detail-oriented and good record keeping abilities.
