Payables & Expense Analyst recruitment

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsibility for capture of invoices, obtaining approval and payment.

• Reconcile supplier statements, requesting copy invoices when necessary.

• Regular reviews of accounts payable ledger to ensure old items are written off or paid, as appropriate, and discrepancies are investigated/resolved and open items matched.

• Liaise with external suppliers and internal staff, regarding payment inquiries and details of expenditure ensuring that group purchase policies are applied where applicable.

• Re-allocate postings from the treasury operational account to the appropriate general ledger account.

• Summarise and detail expenditure for analytical purposes.

• Assist with the preparation of expense accruals.

• Assist with the Newedge inter company process

ESSENTIAL SKILLS EXPERIENCE

Technical/Systems knowledge – knowledge of an automated general ledger and payables ledger. Strong MS office applications skills are a key requirement. Strong Excel and the ability to express practical usage would be an advantage.

Person Skills – outgoing individual, strong communication skills and happy dealing with all levels within an organisation. Must have a flexible attitude to changing work demands and ability to work to tight deadlines.

We would consider a recent graduate without relevant finance experience but would expect a willingness to study towards a relevant accounting qualification. Applicants already registered with a professional body would be at an advantage. Candidates should be able to provide examples of leadership outside of a work environment such as in the sporting arena or other university events.
