Payroll Accountant/Accounting Assistant (477-390) Job in Schiphol-Rijk 1119, Noord Holland Netherlands
This position is located in our European Headquarters based in Schiphol-Rijk
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the European Payroll (60%)
- Account for Payroll related matters throughout our European entities;
- Develop procedures and processes which are efficient and facilitate future growth;
- Be the point of contact in case of any questions around payroll accounting entries
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure timely processing of payroll related transactions and timely monthly payments
- Build consistent procedures around balance sheet and profit and loss review of EFI’s entities around the payroll related trial balance accounts in Europe
- Perform ad hoc analysis and review of any related payroll accounting item in any specific local entity
- Work closely with GL Accountants to complete the local statutory accounts in terms of payroll related items
- Work with ADP and/or local payroll/service provider in relation to tax audits of all subsidiaries in Europe and Internal Audit/SOX 404
- Ensure all procedures and controls within the Finance department are, and remain, SOX compliant and meet Internal Audit requirements;
- Working closely with the International HR team to have timely payroll output and work on payroll/benefit related questions
- Working closely with the Sales Operation team to ensure accurate and timely commission pay.
The Accounting Assistant (40%) will be assisting our G/L Accountants with:
- Compliance with local accounting regulations
- Liaison with our accounting department in our head office in the US
- Liaison with our outside service providers (e.g. external accountants)
- Maintain the General Ledgers / reconciliations
- Inter-Company transactions and eliminations
- Assisting in the month-end closings
Education and Experience Requirements
The successful candidate will have knowledge and/or experience;
- Higher (Professional) Education level: e.g. HEAO or MEAO with experience
- At least 2-5 years’ relevant accounting experience some of which should have been acquired within a Shared Service Centre Environment.
- Good verbal and written command of Dutch and English
- Hands-on mentality with strong communication skills.
- Service orientated.
- Able to think ‘outside the box’
- Flexible
- Results driven
Additionally, it would be advantageous if the candidate would:-
- Another foreign language would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience with SAP preferably.
- Experience with ADP preferably.
Experience in high value environment, e.g. speed and accuracy desirable
