Payroll Specialist recruitment
Payroll and Time Processing:
- Maintains knowledge of the payroll processing system and changes in wage and tax laws; corresponds with federal, state, and local tax agencies
- Manages time adjustments as necessary and ensures accurate processing
- Computes pay adjustments, including benefit deductions, reversals, etc.; coordinates with payroll provider for payment
- Coordinates payroll needs with third party company
- Manages manual check process if necessary
- Manages processing of unemployment insurance claims
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
HRIS Activities:
- Enters and maintains new hire employee data into HRIS
- Creates and maintains employee files
- Coordinates all interfaces, as necessary; follow-up on transactional and data error reports where required
- Monitor, oversee, review, implement and support audits of security standards, procedures and controls for multiple platforms and diverse systems environment
- Responds to vendor inquiries regarding employee data
- Runs audit reports in conjunction with vendors to ensure accurate processing of all employee data
- Tests and validates any system updates as may be implemented by the vendor
Support to Payroll/HR Service/Vendor Manager:
- Trains employees in employee and manager self-service to ensure and reinforce system understanding and utilization
- Ensures vendors are kept apprised of any policy updates that may impact data, i.e. compensation plan changes; policy changes that may impact knowledge based used by vendor call center
- Assesses complex system issues and escalates to appropriate subject matter experts
- Coordinates and participates in special projects as directed to support HR or overall business objectives
- Support payroll vendor’s quarterly and year end activities by reviewing results of all processes prior to final calculations and processing
