Payroll Specialist

Objectives:

To perform the end to end Payroll duties and provide a quality service to our customers and partner groups including Employees, Outsourced vendor, Local Authorities, Finance and HR.
Manage relationship with outsourced vendor to ensure payroll data held and processed accurately and timely for delivery of payroll to Thomson Reuters employees.
Maintain open communication channels with customers/employees to ensure expectations are clarified and updated.
Design and implement improvements on a continual basis.

Essential Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple international payroll responsibility for the provision of all payroll process specific services and deliverables including:
• Collating and prepare payroll input data for submission to payroll vendor. Validate information to ensure quality information is submitted for payroll processing.
• Review payroll data processed by payroll vendor
• Manage payroll authorization and timely payment of payroll to employees.
• Manage Expat Taxation
• Deliver high quality payroll data and pay always in time. Monitor and ensure that error rate does not exceed 0.5% each month
• Review of monthly payroll accounting entries produced by the outsourced vendor or internal business units (eg. HR, Finance) for accuracy.
• Initiate timely payroll accounting entries as necessary for exceptions for posting into GL before month end close.
• Timely resolutions of any irregularities as necessary for posting accounting entries into GL before month end close.
• Perform monthly payroll accounts reconciliations.
• Conduct monthly meetings with payroll vendor and key stakeholders to discuss payroll issues resolution and opportunity for process improvements.
• Maintain SOX compliant practices to reduce risk to business.
• Manage change process in internal process as well as vendor's system as requested
• Ensure standardization of country payroll activities to regional payroll practices
• Review Year-end payroll activities
• Key contact for employees and internal departments on payroll related queries
• Participate in payroll related projects
• Administration of employee share plan.
• Perform ad hoc activities related to payroll.

Skills

Required Skills:

• At least 2-4 years of payroll related experiences in a shared services environment (Polish payroll experience).
• Language skills - fluent English + knowledge of Russian/Ukrainian as an advantage
• Strong problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to form strong customer relationships, an understanding of customer focus and service delivery.
• Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
• Drive self motivation with the ability to work independently.
