POSITION TITLE: Payroll Support Analyst – Payroll Production (Canada)

DEPARTMENT: Payroll

LOCATION: Eastern Operations Center in Parsippany, NJ

                                                       

JOB SUMMARY: Job will perform administrative tasks within the operation center payroll group.  This position will cross train in all payroll support areas, acting as backup support to the payroll team.  The job will include, but not be limited to the administration of the PeopleSoft payroll system and the administration of the company time and attendance system.

1.        Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 hours a day. 

2.        Position will provide customer service to our Canadian payroll function. 

3.        Position will serve as a back up administrator to the company time and attendance system (SAFES). Responsible for approximately 200+ employees.

4.        Position will serve as key team member on system upgrade testing.

5.        Position may report to multiple supervisors in conjunction with work assignments, weekly management and weekend management.

6.        Prepare entries for on demand checks, such as short pays, bonus and other miscellaneous payment types.

7.        Internal/External customer service with field offices and associates to respond to questions regarding payroll issues.  High phone and email volume.

8.        Ability to work extended hours as needed in relation to department workload.

9.        Additional duties assigned, as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY

Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  BA or BS degree and 2 - 4 years of progressively responsible payroll experience in a large volume (5000+), multi-state payroll environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.  

 

Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing):

·          PeopleSoft 8.9 or higher a plus.

·          Canadian payroll experience a plus.

·          French Canadian language a plus

·          Large volume in house payroll experience.

·          Payroll tax experience a plus.

·          Must present extreme organization skills, under pressured deadlines.

·          Must be able to demonstrate that you are responsible and reliable.

·          Ability to work comfortably and lead their peers.

·          Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices.

·          Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.

·          Demonstrated proficiency in office productivity software including Microsoft Word and Excel etc.

·          Ability to carry out multiple assignments concurrently.

·          Skill in clear and concise oral and written communication.

·          Ability to be an effective team member and handle project assignments responsibly.

·          Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.

·          Courteous telephone manner.

·          Strong customer service and results orientation.
