Payroll/HR Senior

A well established manufacturing company based in Port Talbot are currently looking for a Payroll/HR senior. This will be a stand alone position and will require someone who is forward thinking and can work their own initiative. As this role is stand alone, you will need to be confident in processing payroll start to finish, dealing with any queries relating to pay and report into senior management. A basic understanding of HR is required as training can be provided for this part of the role.

Duties are:
· To be the principal contact for Human Resource activity
· To demonstrate and communicate best practices in human resource management
· To test and maintain company compliance with company policies, HR regulations and legislation
· To process the payroll
· To provide analysis and report to senior management on HR activity such as overtime and absenteeism
· To assist in the assessment of the training needs of the workforce, designing solutions, organising or procure training services as required
· To participate in recruitment and selection
· To maintain personnel records and participate in improvement activities
· General office administration (e.g. incidental telephone cover, responsible for own post/scanning, meeting visitors is shared responsibility)

Essential skills are:
· Knowledge and experience of processing a payroll and payroll software
· Knowledge of employment regulations and law
· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Confidence in analysis of numeric data
· Ability to present findings
· Ability to negotiation and build relationships

This role would be ideal for a candidate who has both HR and Payroll experience or suited to a Payroll candidate who would like to pursue a career within HR.
