PENSIONS TECHNICAL MANAGER recruitment
They are looking for a Pensions Technical Manager where you will be responsible for providing technical support and advice, ensuring that pension scheme rules and legislative changes are implemented, while providing oversight of the operational processing of the company SIPP.
The successful candidate will draft new policies and ensure all changes are communicated to relevant stakeholders. With a thorough understanding of pensions legislative framework and forthcoming changes of both a mandatory and discretionary nature, the role holder will have broad pensions experience gained within a technical role.
Core Responsibilities:
- First point of contact for external contacts and our third party administrator on all pension scheme operational matters.
- Liaise with Compliance, Risk and tax specialist teams for management of scheme returns, auditing, complaints.
- Management and resolution of all queries from internal contacts.
- Establish relationships with Fund Managers ensuring agreements are correctly in place between the Company and Fund Managers and provide evaluation of assets for inclusion within the SIPP.
- Manage and respond to queries from IFA partners adding new funds or turning on existing assets for wrappers not already available.
- Oversight of the pensions administrator function performed by third party administration service.
- Oversight of pension rated transactions for both un-crystallised and crystallised funds including; transfers, re-registrations, new business applications, employer contributions, investment choice, drawdown/phased drawdown, death benefits, GAD reviews, changes to income requirements, pension tax relief (PTRAS), trustee relationships, benefit crystallisation events (BCEs).
- Assist in the streamlining of internal processes ensuring the effective delivery of information through end-to-end review and audits of outsourced processes.
- Continue to enhance operational processes and procedures, including implementation of best practice approaches.
- Promote the best interests of the company at all times.
- Encourage and drive quality and continuous improvement of processes used across the team.
- Ensure practices are compliant with regulatory bodies.

Core Requirements:
- Significant senior-level pensions knowledge and experience.
- Knowledge of wrap platforms and products.
- Talisman experience desirable.
- Knowledge of general finance and asset administration.
- Fully IAQ qualified.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory environment and legislation (e.g. Pensions Act 2004)
- Formal pension qualifications provided by an accredited agency (e.g. Pensions Management Institute)
