Performance Measurement
Individual will be involved in calculating, analyzing and verifying portfolio and composite returns used for client reporting, regulatory requirements and composite results used in new business marketing; responsibilities also may include analysis of and response to all internal and external queries related to portfolio and composite performance. Individual will assist in the certification of internal processes as mandated by Sarbanes Oxley and internal control requirements. The position also performs quality control checks pre- and post-load of performance data into the GIPS Composite System to ensure accurate and timely completion of all performance processes. There are also several system migration projects and performance portability projects we are currently engaged in. These projects may include developing specifications for client performance and attribution systems as well as testing and implementation of same. Responsibilities may also require the individual to serve as consultant for counterparts in international UBS offices. The individual may work closely with a team of outside auditors during the annual GIPS Verifications; with various investment teams and general counsel through the business development process; and with other business units to create various reports for senior management.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an undergraduate degree, preferably in Finance or Finance related field, with a strong record of achievement. We are looking for a team player who is diligent, detail-oriented, organized, and hard working. Our candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills. The candidate may interact at all levels of employees in various areas of the firm. The candidate must have well-developed analytical skills, and will be encouraged to pursue the CFA designation and/or an MBA degree. Candidate must exhibit excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. Knowledge of investment concepts, strategies and styles is required. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word is required and a working knowledge of various portfolio accounting and performance measurement systems is desirable. Knowledge of GIPS is strongly recommended. A high degree of accuracy for all tasks is required. The ability to deal with pressure, deadlines and prioritization is a must. Familiarity with both Institutional and SMA/Wrap businesses is a benefit.
