Perl/Unix Developer recruitment
Position Description:
The UNIX Engineering team is responsible for designing and implementing Linux infrastructure for Morgan Stanley's distributed systems. The group is involved in evaluation, certification, integration, and maintenance of numerous products, including hardware, Operating Systems (Red Hat Linux and Solaris), system services (DNS, DHCP, NIS, etc.), filesystems (AFS, NFS and various cluster filesystems), virtualization technologies and a variety of in-house developed tools.
The group is also responsible for developing a system for supporting a global namespace based on AFS. This includes global software distribution, some aspects of entitlements management, as well as development of various utilities to simplify usage of the system.
Required Skills:
Very good development skill in Object Oriented Perl.
Desired Skills:
Understanding of Linux / UNIX fundamentals.
* Linux systems administration experience.
