Physical Metals Product Control VP
Our client, a Tier 1 investment bank, are currently on the lookout for a VP level Product Controller to join their rapidly growing commodities PC team based within the larger commodities space. This role is particularly managing and growing the Physical Metals desk from a Product Control perspective, working closely with various stakeholders and assisting with the implementation of a new system Trinity/Brady. They are looking for VP level candidates with in-depth physical metals product exposure and ideally some systems skills with Trinity Brady too. This is a fast paced role with strong exposure to senior management, project teams and so on. It will also provide a strong platform moving forward being positioned in a team high on the corporate agenda and being able to build the team beneath you.
Day to day duties include:
1. Oversee daily analysis and production of PL for physical (metals) commodity business.
2. Be(come) a subject expert for the bank's physical metals trading.
3. Hire, train and supervise jnr staff.
4. Help with new product launches.
5. Assist finance teams with training, increasing product knowledge and relevant accounting policy. Ensure the team meets regulatory requirements.
6. Work with Country CFOs in the development and maintenance of a robust control environment.
7. Work with auditors and regulators, both internal and external.
8. Hold responsibility for the development, implementation, and compliance of Accounting Policy as it pertains to your team.
9. End-to-End review and documentation of the Bank's Physical Commodity processes, to ensure the finance support model for Commodities is optimized.
10. Balance Sheet Capital Reports - ensure that Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) accurately computed and assist management in understanding their balance sheet and RWA drivers for the Physical Commodity business.
