Performs complete physical examinations, including ordering, interpreting, evaluating diagnostic tests examinations. Assumes on-going responsibility for each patient from discovery of the disorder to recovery. Diagnoses treats both chronic episodic disorders including complications of otherwise normal processes. Establishes documents the health care plan prognosis, maintaining records of each case that are sufficiently complete for any physician reviewing them to evaluate the effectiveness of the plan. Initiates drug therapy, taking responsibility for such therapy when performed prior to consultation w/ a physician. Determines when the patient has recovered from the disorder releases the patient. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in following competencies preferred: Women's Health Clinical expereince Simple Suturing Use of Dermaflex for wound care Simple Incision and Drainage Splinter Removal Nose Bleed Cauterizing Paronychia Ingrown Toe Nail Subungal Hematoma Lumbar Punctures Notes: Shifts are Alternate/Rotating Weekends Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Minimum one (1) year of experience unless specified by department. - Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Program. - Current California Physician Assistant license. - *National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) (*Must be obtained from NCCPA for initial licensure, need not be maintained). - DEA registration number required -AHA BCLS, ACLS PALS certification - National Provider Identification Number (NPI) and be an approved Medicare provider.
