Job Title:  Senior Production Supervisor                                    

Reports To:   Production Manager

Location: Shelbyville, IN                                                           

Department:  Production

Employees Supervised: 40 direct and indirect

 

Primary Duties:

·        To actively lead the team to ensure that team targets and objectives are met in all aspects of its business, while promoting and monitoring the process of continuous improvement.

·        To provide, as practicably as possible, a safe and healthy working environment implementing improvement programs in order to eliminate any work related injuries.

·        To create and promote harmonious working relationships, improving the operation of the team and its relationship with both internal and external customers.

·        To monitor and evaluate costs, quality and service, identifying areas for improvement programs to eliminate waste.  This will normally be achieved through:

-         The use of problem solving techniques

-         The evaluation of team results compared to budget and objectives

-         The ongoing monitoring of teams performance

·        To define priorities, in conjunction with team members, setting objectives and devising improvement plans in order that results meet or exceed expectations

·        Together with the team and planning functions, ensure and guarantee the total satisfaction of all customers, both internal and external.

·        To assist team members and members of other teams (possibly outside the group) to achieve effective and efficient use of resources.

·        To assist the Group Leader, Group Developer, and team members in defining the training and development needs of all team members.

·        To ensure, through a cascade method, that the communications operate effectively both within the team and where there is an impact elsewhere within the organization.

·        To determine in conjunction with the Group Leader and Process Improver, any necessary investment within the team area, and prepares the justification for capital expenditures.

·        To act as a link with suppliers (internal/external) to ensure that the team operates in an efficient and productive manner.

·        Adherence to NSG Standards of Business Conduct and its’ Values and Principles in all business and professional relationships.

 

 

Qualifications Required:

·        Bachelor’s degree in business or technically related field

·        Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position in a manufacturing environment.

·        Demonstrated ability to adapt communication style to interact with a wide variety of people.

·        Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize objectives and targets to meet deadlines.

·        Strong in results oriented, adaptable, standards driven, developing, influential and informative competencies.

 

Qualifications Desired:

 ·        Six Sigma certification and knowledge of the Pilkington manufacturing processes.

·        Previous experience in glass tempering technology
