Job Title:  Maintenance Stores Specialist                            

Reports To:  Maintenance Planner              

Location:  Shelbyville, IN                                                          

Department:  Maintenance

Employees Supervised:  None                                                 

 

Primary Duties:

·        Work with Maintenance Engineering and TPMCs in Root Cause Analysis of failed parts, determination of part disposition and SCR (Supplier Corrective Action) administration. Insure supplier corrective actions are administered and completed in a timely manner

·        Responsible for controlling inventory dollars in Stores items, including MIN-MAX review and obsolescence review and disposition.

·        Insure repair and return items are handled in a timely manner.

·        Review critical part inventory levels.

·        Input and upkeep purchase orders in the PASS system and manage orders to maintain critical delivery dates.

·        Follow-up on delivery utilizing expedite feature of PASS on items critical to operations.

·        Backfill for Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Engineering as necessary.

·        Responsible for working with Maintenance Engineering to select and maintain sources of supply, using progressive purchasing techniques and methods.

·        Solicit quotations, organize/administer bid packages and negotiate contracts consistent with company policies and procedures.

·        Solicit cost savings and value engineering ideas from suppliers and communicate to appropriate departments to facilitate implementation.

·        Maintain open communications with other interdepartmental functions regarding short and long-term plans.

·        Maintain contact with professional organizations regarding spare parts and purchasing functions.

·        Resolve all Procurement Match Error issues promptly.

·        Provide maintenance cost reports on other technical reports to Maintenance Planner.

·        Responsible for all MRO purchasing and supplier quality audits

·        Adherence to NSG Standards of Business Conduct and its’ Values and Principles in all business and professional relationships.

 

 

Qualifications Required:

·        Bachelor or Associate Degree in Engineering, Eng. Tech AND equivalent experience.

·        Experience in maintenance or engineering within manufacturing

·        Experience with dealing with manufacturing suppliers

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel and Access

·        Highly developed and proven organization and follow up skills

 

Qualifications Desired:

·        1-3 years purchasing experience

·        Knowledge of PASS system
