PLANNING TECNICIAN
The Planning Technician is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of the Oak Grove Plant. The Oak Grove facility consists of two PC units, with a cumulative net capacity of 1,600,000 kw and fires locally produced lignite coal. Responsibilities include supporting planners/schedulers and Operations Readiness with: maintenance strategies, spare parts, CMMS data entry, PM development, contractor management, master equipment lists, maintenance processes, etc.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Monitor, track and maintain planner staging areas per work order backlog and scheduling
· Work closely with storeroom staff to label and stage parts for daily and outage work orders
· Enter Prolenium and TIP’s requests as needed
· Monitor and track status of expedited deliverables.
· Work within CMMS to close out schedules and work orders for daily and outage work.
· Update bills of materials on equipment within CMMS.
· Record job history details on work orders in CMMS (actual work performed, safety details, special equipment or tools, etc).
· Collect and restock unused parts from completed work orders.
· Collect repairable items for completed work, stage and send to vendor for repair.
· Collect field information for planner usage and work order building.
· Prepare detailed technical reports; interpret technical information based on written guidelines, and equipment conditions using vendor specific software.
· Coordinate special projects as assigned.
· Support the plant visual management program.

Job Qualifications:
Required experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 2-4 years of fossil power plant or industrial experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance
· Understanding of operating, safety, and LOTO procedures
· Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook
· Strong analytical skills
· Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Preferred Experience:
· Experience in computer maintenance management systems (CMMS) and print reading
· General knowledge of fossil plant equipment and maintenance practices
Physical /Mental demands and working conditions:
This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
· Occasional long and irregular hours.
· Must be able to comply with the Luminant Respirator Policy.
· Enter and work in confine spaces.
· Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
· Occasionally work in wet, cold, hot, and dusty conditions.
