Job Scope Overview

This position is a highly visible role for the company. This role will partner with the Plant Manager and local leadership team to identify and resolve key issues and constraints facing the facility as well as identify new opportunities and implement actions on an ongoing basis. This position is accountable to drive change and results for the plant.

This is a demanding position that offers great variety, growth in responsibility and the opportunity to expand one's accounting and operational experience. The Plant Controller is expected to build and influence professional relationships throughout the facility.

The Plant Controller provides financial leadership to the Upstate,. SC plant. The Plant Controller is a dynamic leader of the plant leadership teams and responsible for maintaining a controls environment that complies with the Company's internal control policies and Sarbanes Oxley. The position is an important part of the financial talent pipeline and serves as a feeder for larger plants as well as corporate roles.

Key Relationships

This position reports directly to the VP of Finance - Supply Chain and dotted-line to the Plant Controller.

Major Responsibilities:
* Manage and Lead the local finance team and continuously develop their skills and experiences.
* Drive the site to meet or exceed all annual financial metrics including but not limited to conversion spend, capital spending, inventory, productivity, and others.
* Lead the monthly closing and forecast process and provide detailed explanations of variances.
* Participates in the development of operational objectives for the plant that are aligned to Corporate and Division strategic objectives
* Leads proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement and corrective actions to ensure optimal facility financial results and shareholder value.
* Leads actions in line with achieving targets, mitigating risk and prioritizing resource needs.
* Leads proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement and corrective actions to ensure facility optimal financial results and shareholder value.
* Lead the site annual operating plan process.
* Lead the site annual physical inventory process and ensure no significant inventory variance each calendar year in both units and dollars.
* Establish a control environment on site that complies with all company and external agency requirements.
* Ensures the internal controls environment is operating effectively in all areas including, data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations (GAAP, SOX compliance, etc.)
* Coordinate with the internal and external auditors on an as needed basis.
* Insure contract compliance with Guest Operations and Tollers and monitor, report, and control all related activities.
* Serve on Site Leadership Team.
* Drive local cost analysts to be business partners at the site.
* Ad hoc and special projects as required.

Education and Ideal Experience
* B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA preferred.
* At least 12 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, financial planning, cost accounting, and controls.
* Manufacturing experience required.
* Seeking candidates with prior experience as a plant controller.
* Sarbanes Oxley experience required.
* Must have strong Analytical skills.
* Attention to detail is critical.
* Strong Presentation skills.
* Strong knowledge of SAP systems.
* Strong work ethic and commitment to getting work done.
