Plant Controller
Job Description
Main objectives
- Administers accounting and financial policies, procedures, and practices to ensure adequate control, recording, reporting, and analysis of the Company’s business transactions, operating results, assets, and liabilities
- Coordinates and supervises all activities pertaining to the accounting function of the plant
- Prepares business plans, capital budgets, and monthly financial performance reports
- Provides reports and analysis as requested
Areas of responsibility
- Manages and reviews the performance of all accounting staff
- Prepares all financial information needed for a timely and accurate month end close
- Measure actual performance against budget and/or forecast and interpret the results of operations for all levels of management
- Prepares annual budget and forecasts
- Prepares monthly reconciliations of the balance sheet income statement accounts
- Prepares and reviews the standardized costs for items manufactured by the plant
- Maintains the internal controls system at the plant
- Reviews and approves all vouchers for payments
- Prepares capital budgets and maintains records for tooling capital purchases
- Address workplace issues and concerns in an efficient and effective manner
- Contribute in implementing lean business processes
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Personal tasks
The personal tasks of the Finance Controller consists of, but are not limited to the following activities:
- Perform all accounting work in compliance with IFRS and GAAP requirements
- Report immediately to your supervisor/manager any known internal control issues that may have a material impact on the financial statements or put the assets of the company at risk
- Ensure that an open door process is supported, promoted and followed in the accounting department
- Address workplace issues and concerns in a timely and effective manner
