We are a global packaging manufacturer who is looking for an experienced and outgoing person that can manage and grow our Santa Ana manufacturing facility. The ideal professional candidate will, possess essential academic requirements, and be able to manage all aspects of the operation.

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

 

As the senior manager on site, the Plant Manager is responsible for all manufacturing, purchasing, and distribution operations as well as manufacturing support functions: engineering, planning and sales. The PM will track and improve all corporate goals and metrics and foster a well-trained and motivated staff.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·          Plan, organize, and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations to attain the most effective return on assets.

·          Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.

·          Facilitate regional sales growth in conjunction with the National Accounts Manager to find, maintain, and grow the customer base and product offerings

·          Couple the attainment of business objectives and production schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations.

·          Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility sets the standard in excellence for service and quality.

·          Establish team and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need.

·          Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving.

·          Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes.

·          Manage budget spending in relation to production volume changes.

·          Work to establish management practices throughout assigned areas that include all employee involvement with opportunity for constructive input and action.

·          Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.

·          Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.

·          Foster a continual learning environment whereby employees maintain essential skills and are challenged to learn the latest in techniques and processes

 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

The continued growth of our business requires:

·   A dedicated and proven leader able to work closely with and develop all functional business units in the organization.

·   4 year degree; business or technical field

o       MBA a plus

·   10 plus years of experience in operations and sales in a direct and/or support roles

·   5 plus years of managerial level experience

·   Experience in protective packaging a huge plus

·   Established track record of improvement

·   Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential.
