Plant Manager-Wood, Furniture Specialist Job in Edmonton, Alberta Canada
Our client is a leader in the wood furniture-assembly and manufacturing industry and have a job opening for a dynamic “Plant Manager / VP Manufacturing" to be based out of their facility in Calgary / Edmonton area in Alberta. The ideal candidate will have experience in wood, millwork, cabinetry, furniture and a leadership style, second to none, and at least 8 + years in a managerial role with a full PL responsibility.
This role is fully responsible for overseeing production, engineering and maintenance of this non unionized facility. You will over see all LEAN and Continuous Improvement initiative. You will be fully responsible for the complete PL of the plant and assist in creating budgets. You will provide leadership to all departmental heads. You will establish production KPIs and help in achieving optimal efficiencies. You will lead all industrial engineering and process improvement initiatives.
The right candidate will have a Bachelors degree ( Engineering Preferred); a minimum of 8+ years experience in wood assembly, wood furniture, wood cabinet making, millwork, wood kitchens, engineered wood, wood store fixtures or in a similar industry (MUST have). A minimum of 5+ years plant management experience of a large plant ( 300+ employees) is a MUST have. Experience or education of process engineering, industrial engineering, LEAN, Six Sigma is a definite asset.
