PMO Analyst (Project Management) – Marsh & McLennan Companies Corporate

As a PMO Analyst in our Finance department, you will be responsible for supporting the workstream Program Manager in handling with project plan maintenance, tracking, and monitoring the status of project deliverables and assisting in tracking project costs against budget and monthly updates of the forecast. You will maintain status reports and project checkpoints. You will also perform other ad-hoc tasks as required, such as meeting or workshop logistics, planning and minute taking.
Responsibilities
- Project plan tracking – obtaining plan updates and track progress. Highlighting any potential issues or risks and escalating to the Program Manager. Tracking and monitoring deliverables progress against the plan.
- Project financials – Tracking actual spend against budget, investigating and highlighting any variances. Tracking futures spend, updating the forecast and monitoring cost to ensure adherence to the budget. This will involve monitoring time recorded against projects and invoices.
- Project risks, issues, dependencies and change control – Maintaining logs and registers, following-up status and driving closure.
- Status reporting – Combining project updates from stakeholders with updates from the project plan to create regular status pack updates.
- Project meetings – scheduling and minute taking, also responsible for maintaining knowledge repository.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have 2-5 years experience working in a Project/Program/PMO environment.
- Experience in project management or project/program management support.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; verbally and in writing.
- Excellent project planning ability, previous experience in multi-year or multiple phase projects.
- Excellent numerical skills, previous experience of cost tracking and forecasting.
- Strong information gathering skills.
- Able to manage time effectively, dealing with multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of company personnel and maintain effective working relationships.
- Experience of working in a distributed team environment or a multi-national company.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required including in-depth knowledge of MS Project.
- Exposure to Oracle applications would be beneficial.
- PMP certified or similar would be advantageous.
