PMO Project Manager

Hays Specialist Recruitment have been exclusively retained by The Pensions Regulator in Brighton, East Sussex to recruit for a programme office manager to provide programme management support to the core systems architecture programme and to oversee the central tracking, planning and coordination of component delivery projects and liaison between other internal stakeholders. The vacancy is signed off as a 12 month fixed term contract.

The responsibilities of the jobholder will be to:

· create and deliver the terms of reference for the core systems and architecture programme including approaches for the effective planning, monitoring and delivery of the programme in conjunction with the programme manager, business leads and component project managers.
· support the overall integrity and coherence of the programme as well as maintaining close relationships with other key related / dependant programmes and projects
· work with the programme manager and project assurance manager to provide project support and co-ordination in accordance with the regulator’s governance framework
· identify, log and monitor dependencies between the component projects and programme level assumptions and those escalated by component project and other change initiatives
· set up and run weekly management meetings with the work stream leads capturing the outputs and then updating the plans and risks assumptions issues dependencies logs as well as compiling the monthly management and governance report and provide ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by the programme manager.

Essential skills
· Experience of working with project management methodology and standards (Prince2 practitioner status preferred)
· Experience of working with corporate strategies and plans, together with key process and structure
· Working knowledge of I.T. systems delivery, I.T. development methodologies and procurement processes.
· Experience of setting up and managing a Programme Management Office function within a busy change environment
· Experience supporting large programmes working within an organisational change management framework
