Overview

The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) change programme is responsible for implementing the numerous IFRS updates announced by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) in 2011. The IFRS Change Programme is one of Finance’s main objectives in 2011 ongoing. Many of the standards are not final and the effective dates have not been confirmed. Similar standards have been grouped into workstreams:

Workstream 1 covers new standards, including IFRS 13 (fair value measurement) and offsetting which are final and have an effective date of 1.1.2013.

Workstream 2 covers the new standards on consolidation and Joint Ventures which are final and have an effective date of 1.1.2013.

The effective date is a mandatory deadline and we need to comply to be able to file our financial statements in accordance with the accounting rules.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for supporting the Programme PMO with the following activities:

• Maintaining the programme risks and issues log – producing reports from the log to track progress

• Making updates to the programme plan

• Submitting updates to the Financial Reporting Change Portal

• Assisting with the production of Operating Committee slide packs

• Assisting with maintenance of programme Microsoft (MS) SharePoint site

• Assisting with onboarding tasks for new joiners

• Updating the resource plan

• Supporting the Communications and Training workstream with ad hoc tasks

• Keying in figures from statutory accounts to MS Excel

• Performing Quality Assurance on documents for circulation

Candidate requirements

You will have:

• Experience of working in the financial services industry, preferably Investment Banking in a PMO Support role.

• Proficiency in the use of MS Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint

• A good understanding of project life cycle

• Confident working within a large and dispersed team

• Excellent attention to detail

You will be:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent

• A good communicator with the ability to interact effectively with multiple stakeholders at varying levels of management.

• A professional candidate who is self-motivated, enthusiastic and works with minimum supervision

• A proven team player who “goes the extra mile” in striving to provide quality service
