Policy Manager
A growing NSW Government organisation is currently seeking a qualified Policy Manager to focus on various human services policy and projects. Managing and working in a small policy team this role requires hands on policy analysis and development skills. Opportunity to work on a broad human services portfolio focusing on vulnerable people in our community.
Up to 6 month contract with strong potential for extension based on performance and fit. Located in the heart of the City this rewarding contract won’t last long!
This is a great opportunity to build a dynamic team whilst working with Director level staff. As a Policy Manager you will guide colleagues to manage and undertake reforms and review projects in human services. The focus of the role is to develop innovative policy to enable vulnerable people to participate in social and economic life and build an inclusive community.
You will primarily be involved in complex and “sticky” policy enhancement. The Policy Manager position will also include monitoring and research national and international trends and to deliver expert advice on strategic direction, issues and trends relating to legislative and policy matters.
The ideal candidate for the Policy Manager – Human Services Position will have the following :
- Think strategically and use initiative and innovation
- Strong understanding of the policy process and have well developed skills in policy analysis, development, implementation and review.
- Awareness of business economic trends and Government business issues and initiatives
- Experience in assessing reviews and modifying work practices, procedures, structures and resource allocation to enhance efficiencies.
- Ability to meet strict assignment deadlines with their solid project management skills
- Experience in stakeholder management predominantly in the human services industry
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
