Arkema Fluoropolymers is the world's leading producer of polyvinylidene (PVDF) polymers and copolymers. Fluoropolymers RD is a leader in new application developments and product innovation in this field. The Melt Products Department is responsible for technical service and new product development, applications research and development for key markets and technology. There is close coordination with our business and our European technical center.

Position Reports to the Senior Research Engineer which reports to the Kynar Industrial Products RD Manager.

ACTIVITIES:
1. Set up equipment, conduct and trouble shoot polymer processing trials using; injection molding, pipe, tube and film extrusion, etc. to produce samples, develop new processes or train customers.
2. Maintain and manage specific melt processing equipment.
3. Conduct testing, complete data analysis and prepare reports/presentations to support new developments for key projects, technical service or applications developments.
4. Plan and execute experimental programs based upon assigned activities.
5. Coordinate analytical and physical testing for technical service and development programs - complete data analysis and draft reports.
6. With guidance provide technical service support for key and developmental customers in a timely and profession manner that enhances our relationships.
7. Develop new melt processing technical expertise and capabilities to support our new developments.
8. Help to identify product improvement opportunities for Arkema Fluoropolymers.

BS in Polymer Science/Material Science or related technical field with 0 to 5 years experience
Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
Proficient with computer software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, presentations, etc.).
Excellent organization skills, strong interpersonal skills
Experience and/or training in polymer processing and polymer structure- properties relationships
Hands on orientation to conduct experiments, maintain equipment
Experience working with Polymer processing equipment preferred
