Portfolio Manager – Equities (Emerging Market Financials) recruitment
The Capital Strategies department is responsible for several risk mandates within NBIM including the fund’s large equity holdings across different industries and regions inter alia. Capital Strategies also manages interaction with intermediaries and companies related to the fund’s Equity Capital Market activities including PRE IPOs.
The department is expanding and is looking to hire an experienced professional for a position as Portfolio Manager. The position is located in London or Oslo, and travel will be required.
Main Responsibilities:
• Co-manage a global long only portfolio within emerging market Financials
• Perform financial analysis, strategic business analysis and detailed industry research
• Build and maintain company financial models and industry databases
• Develop independent investment views to be applied to the portfolio investment strategy
• Prepare and present investment cases and industry analysis in a rigorous and clear manner
• Develop and maintain relationships with portfolio companies
Main Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or equivalent with strong academic records
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including relevant industry background from Financials either from a senior management position, as a consultant, portfolio manager or research analyst
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to generate independent and innovative investment ideas
• Ability to interact and build relationships with Senior Management of portfolio companies
• Ability to take risk positions in the equity market
• Strong communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English
