Business Unit Overview:
The Blackrock Multi-Asset Client Solutions Group (BMACS) is responsible for developing and implementing solutions to investor problems employing Blackrock’s broad product based capabilities. BMACS encompasses the management of multi-asset portfolios across the globe. Through the selection and management of instruments we create value for our clients, helping them to achieve their investment goals.
Job Purpose/Background:
We are looking for a London based portfolio manager to join BMACS. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of a range of portfolios within the Solutions Portfolio Management group.
The role will initially be focused on the management of passive currency and synthetic overlay portfolios constructed with futures and OTC derivatives (including swaps and currency forwards). The role will also require involvement in the implementation of strategic changes to client portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio management responsibilities including:
- Management of currency and synthetic overlay portfolios.
- Evaluate portfolio construction, portfolio rebalancing and trade list generation.
- Monitoring counterparty exposures and event risks.
- Evaluating choices of trading strategies related transactions costs.
- Analysis and communication of portfolio performance and exposures.
- Work with other stakeholders across the business to help in the design of new products and solutions employing Blackrock products, derivatives and other instruments as necessary.
- Engage directly with clients and investment consultants as required.
- Contribute to development of IT infrastructure supporting risk management analytics, portfolio management, trading and client reporting activities.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Relevant experience in a portfolio management or markets environment
- Good knowledge of derivative instruments and strategies, preferably across asset classes
- Broad interest in financial markets, fundamentally curious
- Proficient with Excel, Bloomberg and use of analytical libraries
- Candidate must possess excellent communication skills
- Team player coupled with a sense of ownership and accountability
- Conscientious with a strong focus on attention to detail
Skills/Qualifications:
- Degree or higher level education preferably in a quantitative subject (maths, statistics, economics, finance)
- CFA (part qualified acceptable) or similar professional qualification, or further degree in relevant subject
