Portfolio Manager, Real Estate Securities Team recruitment
The Real Estate Securities Team has been created as a joint venture between our private equity real estate group and the fundamental equity team. We have access to proprietary fundamental research and on the ground real estate expertise as well as insights from the fundamental equity team and its trading desk. The team employs a fundamental approach to investing which begins with intense modeling of prospective investment opportunities augmented by thorough real estate supply and demand fundamental analysis. Once modeling is complete, comparative sector analysis us undertaken to identify superior investment opportunities. We are benchmark sensitive and seek to generate superior risk-adjusted returns throughout the market cycle over long periods of time.
The investment process is highly disciplined, research-intensive, global in its frame of reference and risk-informed. The Real Estate Securities Team has only recently been established. Today it is comprised of 2 portfolio managers with plans to build a team of in excess of 12 investment professionals, located globally over time. All products will be managed by the team and all prospective candidates must be able to work constructively in a team environment. Portfolios are constructed bottom-up, sub-industry by sub-industry and region by region. The team utilizes proprietary risk analytics to ensure that active exposures are intentional, consistent with the team's fundamental points-of-view, and appropriately scaled.
The candidate will be expected to work with the portfolio managers to develop and maintain a working investment thesis for a sector and or region of real estate securities. He or she will be responsible for relative-contribution to return at the issue-specific level.
Qualifications:
- BA, with a CFA or working towards the CFA designation
- At least 2 years of investment experience in US real estate securities
- At least 4 years of investment experience in real estate
- Passion for real estate and equity investing
- Strong research, quantitative and analytical skills
- Creative and critical thinker
- Achievement- and team-oriented
