Portfolio Performance Reporting Junior Analyst recruitment

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Assume ownership and accountability for the preparation and delivery of the monthly and quarterly performance reports to stakeholders

2. Serve as a primary resource to clients, consulting teams, and other internal departments by developing an in-depth knowledge of client’s investment portfolio, reporting methods and performance measurement theory

3. Analyze transaction, valuation, and performance data from clients’ custodians and/or investment managers to ensure accurate performance reporting

4. Reconcile and track all money movements within client portfolios (e.g., investment manager subscriptions/redemptions, cash flows, private investment commitments, spending) through communication with internal and external parties

5. Compare product returns to benchmarks; analyze and document any variances in the reported figures. Create and maintain custom benchmarks

6. Monitor performance figures provided by internal/external sources to ensure accuracy and consistency

7. Research and analyze performance for client’s underlying manager structure to provide context on total portfolio performance to stakeholders; provide qualitative analysis on individual client’s portfolio

8. Proactively communicate and provide insight on investment performance, deviations from benchmarks and asset allocation targets, and portfolio movements to stakeholders

9. Based on a thorough understanding of individual client needs, provide recommendations to clients and consulting teams for displaying performance results and asset allocation through the Group’s primary products, the Performance Report and the Online Performance Reporting platform

10. Proactively collect, organize and input data provided by client and/or internal sources, as needed. This includes, but is not limited to extracting necessary data points from complex cash account statements, calculating currency hedges and calculating net performance for client portfolios.

11. Support firm’s governance service

12. Understand and speak to the Performance Reporting Group’s pricing model, products and services; accurately execute quarterly billing and invoicing for clients

13. Fulfil data requests and ad-hoc analysis requests through the generation and/or creation of custom reports on topics such as hedging and liquidity to stakeholders

14. Attend quarterly manager meetings/calls and gain exposure to qualitative and quantitative manager research (hedge fund specialization)

15. Actively participate within the Department to expand knowledge, refine client reporting skills, and contribute to the evolution of the Department’s product and reporting methods

16. Be knowledgeable of the global financial markets and asset types, such as, equity, fixed income and alternative investments

17. Demonstrate a solid understanding of Cambridge Associates’ investment philosophy

18. Other duties as assigned, as earned and as the group evolves

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with up to 2 years of related work experience in the financial industry

• Experience with institutional investors, investment portfolio accounting, or performance measurement (preferred but not essential)
