NEST Corporation is the trustee body responsible for overseeing NEST (National Employment Savings Trust).  NEST will be a new workplace pension scheme that’s being designed specifically to meet the needs of low-to-moderate earners and their employers.

The Corporate Affairs Team makes sure we get maximum value from our relationships with the media and with stakeholders, while ensuring that our proposition really resonates with the employers and individuals who will soon be our customers.

PR Manager

This new role will help deliver a number of PR projects which during 2011-2012 include: a focused consumer PR campaign, targeted professional and sectoral campaigns; as well as supporting the expansion of NEST’s media contacts - in particular across business and consumer media at a national level (including broadcast).

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the following deliverables and activities:

• Development and delivery of integrated and targeted PR campaigns to provide information about the role of NEST, in line with agreed campaigns

• Contribute to the effective functioning of NEST’s press office function (alongside the Media Manager and Head of Media and PR) and helping to develop the extent and depth of relationships with key journalists, including national journalists

• Development and delivery of appropriate Media and PR tools and collateral to agreed deadlines

• Supporting NEST people with ad-hoc Media and PR activities, including by providing briefings and direct support at events and interviews

• Assisting in the preparation of regular reports and management information for the Head of Media and PR

Providing assistance to the Head of Media and PR, and wider Corporate Affairs Team for ad-hoc projects

Experience required

• Successfully creating, designing and implementing PR campaigns and delivering on key objectives

• Creating written content for a variety of audiences, preferably both technical and consumer-facing

• PR agency background or busy in-house environment, with experience of financial services preferred.

• ‘Frontline’ press office experience preferred

• Some experience of government/public sector would be useful, but not essential.

• Social media and consumer-focused campaigns would be advantageous.

• Working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is essential in this role

Educational requirements

• Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in journalism and/or PR or equivalent experience
