Hays Healthcare is seeking a Band 6 Practice Nurse to work as part of a multi disciplinary primary healthcare team in the Invicta Park Barracks delivering general medical services and elements of occupational health to military personnel.
Working as a lead you will be expected to work autonomously in the provision of nurse led clinics, clinical supervision of other nurses where appropriate and ensure untrained personnel within the treatment area work within their personal capabilities.
Management of routine and specialist nurse clinics to meet the needs of the practice population including treatment, screening, advice and referral including Cervical Screening, Deployment screening, Adult and Child Vaccinations, Travel health advice, Ear irrigation, Spirometry, Phlebotomy, MOD Occupational Health screening and Wound care management.
Manual Handling, Basic Life support, and proof of immunisations against Tuberculosis, Hep B, Rubella, Measles, Mumps, Varicella are essentials.
You must hold full NMC membership, be a car driver and be eligible to work in the UK. Previous experience in a similar role is essential and MoD experience would be an advantage, as would some background as a Nurse in an AE/Emergency Medicine field.
