The Arrears Support team is responsible for the collection of arrears for the Banks mortgages.
The successful candidate will be tasked with maximising payments and minimising losses by understanding the case and applying strategies in order to recoup as much of the payment as possible (customer s will have exposure of

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and effectively organise own caseload to establish contact with borrowers who are in arrears with their contracted payment.
Use influencing and negotiating skills to assist in obtaining an agreed arrangement.
Direct involvement with customers and third party professional representatives, including face to face meetings where required.
Explanation of consequences where no suitable arrangement is reached or satisfactory proposals made e.g. legal action
Obtaining sign off to proceed legally as required.
Determining and recommending loan provisioning, where appropriate.
Knowledge of and adherence to departmental Policy and Procedure in an environment where policy may frequently change

Essential Key Requirements:

Proven track record within a collections / credit environment
Evidence of strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Highly motivated with an ability to work under pressure, to meet targets and tight deadlines.
Strong numerical and report writing skills in addition to sound decision making ability.
Excellent team player, willing to share knowledge and coach/mentor more junior staff
Strong IT skills – Word and Excel.
Minimum Educational Entry requirement of 5 passes at Ordinary Level Leaving Certificate subjects or superceeding qualification (or equivalent)
