Prelim and Closing Analyst

Group Description: The Prelim and Closing Team reports into Private Banking (PB) Credit Middle Office. The Team is responsible for ensuring that credit requests from the Business are fully understood, the correct information is gathered for underwriting analysis, the correct information is sent to Clients per regulatory guidelines, legal documentation is correctly prepared for Client closings, and Client closings are coordinated effectively. The functions performed by this team are critical to protecting the bank from regulatory and credit risks. Job Description: The analyst will be part of a team with the following responsibilities across the PB domestic portfolio: Pre Underwriting and Credit Approval The ideal candidate will be a recent college graduate from an accredited instituition with a solid GPA. Review and understand credit requests from Capital Advisory. Ensure client reference data is correct in corporate Credit Risk Infrastructure (CRI). Ensure all systems are accurate and updated in order to support the request lifecycle. Determine and gather information ("vendor work") that will be required to complete the assessment/underwriting of the requests. For example, depending on the request, title, flood, appraisal, and collateral perfection information might need to be gathered. Thoroughly understand Firm policies that govern the gathering of this information. Confirm the information gathered is accurate. Thoroughly understand letters and disclosures and the scenarios in which the letters and disclosures must be provided to clients. Thoroughly understand the regulations that establish these requirements. Apply this understanding to daily processing and determine whether a letter or disclosure should be sent to a client for all requests being reviewed. Post Underwriting and Credit Approval Review and understand agreement terms post underwriting and credit approval. Prepare the legal documentation closing package and complete the underwriting process. Thorough understanding of residential and real estate documents, UCC searches, equipment evaluations, and stock verifications; commercial and residential real estate regulatory requirements, valuation methods, and lien perfections; legal documentation and credit policies and guidelines will be required to effectively deliver an accurate closing package. Understanding of loan sales and the underwriting process will also be required. Overall Manage initiatives to resolve control gaps and enhance current processes for further efficiency and effectiveness as needed. Overtime may be required as determined by business. The analyst will work very closely with Capital Advisory, Underwriting, Compliance, Legal, Credit, and external vendors to manage preliminary, legal documentation, and closing activities for credit requests.
