Pricing Consultant (Statistician, Part-Qualified Actuary or Graduate) – Global General Insurance Co Job in Horsham, Southern UK

My client is looking for a Statistician, Part-Qualified Actuary or a graduate with strong knowledge of statistics and mathematics to join their Pricing Team.  They are open to candidates from non-insurance backgrounds and have previously recruited people from the pharmaceutical industry, chemical companies and the banking sector.  The key requirement is the ability to gather data and manipulate it for analytical and modelling purposes.

The Role

The Intermediated Home Pricing team work with organisations such as insurance brokers, banks, building societies. They respond flexibly and their involvement can range from providing underwriter expertise to full marketing support using our partner's brand to sell insurance. In some cases they operate on a sole-supplier basis, in others they are one of a number of insurers on a competitive panel.

A key responsibility of this role will be to look after their Mid and High Net Worth Home accounts. These accounts are a key area of development for my client following their recent acquisition of the UK’s leading High Net Worth specialists. The role will give the opportunity to:

 

Within the wider team there will also be the opportunities in the future for working on other household accounts. They also have a significant Home Emergency account and look after the SME property account (Small-Medium enterprises: shops, offices and tradesman).

Pricing work hand-in-hand with Actuaries, Relationship Managers, Marketing and Product Development teams to deliver profitable growth for the business in what is a fiercely competitive and dynamic marketplace. The work involves a combination of skills including business / commercial understanding, data analysis, getting to the root of issues and communicating complex business dynamics in terms that ‘front line’ colleagues and clients can readily understand.
