Pricing Specialist
- Ensure that daily pricing vendor files are received, imported and published to downstream systems in a timely manner
- Perform daily and monthly control activities to ensure the accuracy of pricing data
- Respond to pricing-related inquiries from internal and external parties
- Interact with the portfolio management group when pricing related queries arise including vendor price challenges, broker pricing and internal models
- Maintain all relevant documentation related to security-level pricing
- Generate monthly and ad hoc reporting for Western Asset’s Pricing Committee
- Engage in project-related work and perform additional ad hoc tasks as needed
- Provide assistance in the audits conducted and have an understanding of the accounting and regulatory requirements
- Work with IT to monitor data flow within the pricing system, to continuously work to increase efficiency of the system and to further develop knowledge from a business user perspective of the system
Competencies:
- Excellent MS Excel skills are required; working knowledge of Bloomberg, MS Access and Visual Basic programming is a plus
- Experience with a wide range of security types including bonds, options, futures and swaps
- Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to clearly articulate information to both internal and external parties (clients, custodians, auditors)
- Detail-oriented, organized, proactive, with the ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure, team environment
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in a related field, demonstrated success in a previous operational role within the financial services industry
