Principal - Medical Innovation
Location: London
Salary Guide:To c £65,000 + Package

Working closely with the Medical and Business Development Directors to develop new business
opportunities globally by creating compelling and novel approaches to client innovation challenges,
primarily in the medical sector.

Participate in projects and planning to deliver outstanding design and business solutions that drive
revenues and growth for our clients and build our clients reputation as thought leaders.

Responsibilities:
Identify new opportunities against the sales plan to drive new business activity, primarily in the area of medical, pitch to potential clients and win new or repeat business through strong client relationships and tactical approach. This includes understanding the markets and competition, applying and innovating methods and techniques.
Help develop and present a differentiated and compelling strategic innovation offering.
Participate in proposing and planning innovation projects.
Project management of innovation projects that have a front end focus. Ensure efficient and
profitable use of resource in delivering to time and budget. Maintain strong client
relationships throughout the project.
Provide inspiration and mentoring in areas of expertise to less experienced team members.

Key skills/Requirements:
A strong understanding and commercial experience (including planning and oversight) of
innovation/insight/business strategy projects, ideally from a consultancy environment.
A proven track record of winning new business and building successful client relationships.
Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the medical and pharmaceutical industries obtained through either an in-house position or having worked in the area of medical devices in a consultancy role. Understanding/appreciation of the medical regulatory frameworks and standards that impact the product innovation/development process.
Ability to pitch and sell the value of consumer insight and trends into business strategy to influence the design of services, products or brands.
Either a solid, theoretical or practical grounding in research techniques and proven ability to apply it to a commercial setting, or, demonstrable expertise in new product development/service innovation, future social and marketing trends.
An ability to motivate, mentor and inspire team members.
Excellent communication and written skills, ability to influence others at all levels.
Articulate, eloquent and able to present complex solutions clearly and in a variety of formats,
customised to the needs and expectations of particular audiences.
Works well under pressure when necessary, dealing with competing requirements of a number of projects.
